I got nothing done when I first started working from home. I would sleep in, watch daytime television, and have a hard time dragging myself away from the comfort of the sofa. After a few days of bumming around, I was feeling lazy and disappointed in myself.
I get quite a few comments and emails from readers wondering how they can start their own blog. This post is long overdue as I’ve been meaning to write it since the summer! I thought I would kick off the new year with this step-by-step guide for how to set up a self-hosted blog. (I’ll explain what self-hosted means and why it’s important in just a little bit.) Because there is so much information related to blogging (how to set up a blog, how to monetize, what to write about, how to attract readers, and so much more), I thought it would be best to give each topic its own blog post.

I made a few tweaks to my Adsense strategy in November and I am happy to report that December earnings more than doubled November’s! Whether you are a blogger, or just interested in reading about how Adsense works, I am so excited to share my Adsense tips with you!
I started this blog almost three months ago, back in September. My card shop slows down after Mother’s Day and doesn’t usually pick back up until the holidays. I needed something more to keep me busy, so I decided to put my two failed blogs behind me and start a new one about topics that I am passionate about – life and personal finance.
